There are only a few people who are familiar with card games, that are unaware of the incredibly popular game of Blackjack; however it is not the case that Blackjack is a simple game with uniform rules for everyone who plays. There are several different types of Blackjack that are played in different casinos, as well as online with providers such as Skyvegas and around the World and here are a few of them for you to have a look at…

Regular Blackjack

The game that most of us know and love. The goal is to make a value of 21 with your cards, a simple break down of the rules is that:

  • Player may hit, stand, bust, split and double down,
  • Dealer must stand on soft 17,
  • Blackjack pays 1.5 to 1,
  • Insurance is half of player bet,

Double Exposure Blackjack

A game very similar in essene to regular Blackjack but with just a few changes:

  • Both of the dealers cards are exposed,
  • Dealer wins on all tie situation, other than on a natural blackjack,
  • Players are only allowed to split once,
  • When the player gets a blackjack it pays even money.

Single Deck Blackjack

As one may expect, this variation is the same as regular Blackjack but is played with one deck of cards instead of the regular 4-8 decks usually used in casinos. Due to the fact that there are fewer cards, single deck Blackjack offers the player a better chance of winning as it is easier to guess which cards are coming up by counting cards. This form of the game is becoming increasingly rare but can be found on many online  casinos to this day.

Quinze

Quinze is a game that is extremely similar to Blackjack and originally comes from France. The game is over 200 years old, and is basically the same as blackjack – the difference was that the number goal was 15 and not 21. Quinze used to be extremely popular but is now not played as much.
